From 24 to 29 April in Ukraine were held the week of immunization.

According to the world organization of health protection, vaccinations annually to help prevent up to 3 million deaths from diseases like tetanus, measles, mumps, rubella, whooping cough and tetanus. However, the mass hysteria over the poor quality of vaccine and rampant failures of vaccination led to measles outbreak in Ukraine. World immunization week aims to break all stereotypes and show that vaccination is a good thing.

Before the world immunization week was held only in Europe and, accordingly, was called the European week of immunization. Gradually joined by other countries. Now immunization week is designed to attract the attention of people from all over the world on the importance of vaccination as the main preventive measure that can protect humanity from new epidemics.

BOAZ urges to vaccinate children from deadly diseases. As arguments, they cite the following figures: in 2010, 1.7 million died of unvaccinated children under the age of five years. The worst situation is in India, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Congo, Nigeria, Uganda, Ethiopia and South Africa.

To avoid another outbreak, the WHO carries out various educational activities, organizes the vaccination of children and adults, invites the representatives of different countries to exchange information and experience. The goal of world immunization week in 2018 is to emphasize the need for vaccination throughout the world. And to show how great a role these efforts could play each person from the donor, regular blood, and to the common man.

The campaign 2018 BOAZ in General and MOH in particular set themselves the following tasks:

1. To draw attention to the importance of immunization.

2. Remind donors of the importance of vaccines and about the need for investment in this medical industry.

3. To talk about how everyone can and should help in providing vaccines.

However, not everyone in Ukraine have a positive attitude to vaccines. For example, a measles outbreak in January-February of 2018 in Ukraine showed how a large number of unvaccinated children. In a society still debates on whether current vaccines is harmful or not.

It is known that some people deliberately boycotting vaccinations. Among those who do not believe in the benefits of vaccination, the President of the League of protection of civil rights Vyacheslav Kostylev. In the Ukrainian radio he told me that his daughter had a routine vaccination. Vyacheslav Kostylev Himself believes that collective immunity, that is, 95% of the population must be resistant to the virus, forming a rather natural way.

In addition, he noted that the state does not recognize death or disease after vaccination. According to him, in the United States of America and in other countries at least recognize that vaccination is a risk. In Ukraine no lethal case was not somehow connected with the vaccine.

The success of vaccination depends on many factors, among which are strict control of the Ministry of health and quality check of vaccines, which are imported to Ukraine. But in any case, as long as vaccination remains the only possibility to prevent serious diseases. To do them or not — the choice of everyone.
