British scientists have discovered a protein that is responsible for a tenfold increase immunity in mice. The same protein can help the human body to efficiently fight off viruses and malignant diseases.

Has long been known that cancer cells are able to evade fatal exposure to T cells of the immune system and different drugs. To effectively suppress development of malignant tumors in many scientific laboratories of the world developed methods that increase the immune system and give cancer cells an opportunity to survive.
The recently published results of the work of British scientists, which studied mice with a very powerful immune system in comparison with their conventional counterparts. The study of molecular processes that occur in the body of these supermice identified a special protein LEM, responsible for the increased synthesis of lymphocytes.
The scientists noted that, if experimental animals are present this protein, the number of T cells generated in response to the emergence of harmful viruses or cancer cells is 10 times higher than in mice from the control group.
The researchers identified this protein LEM, that is, the molecule of the expansion of lymphocytes, modulating proliferation of T-cells in mice and humans. Now scientists are working to develop the technology of gene therapy, which can boost the human immune system, stimulating the synthesis of LEM-proteins.
Tests created therapy on mice in order to ensure its security in combination with other anticancer and antiviral methods.
The scientists have applied for two patents that are the basis of the developed technology of treatment of cancer and viral diseases.
