Experts from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign have created artificial muscles based on carbon fiber.
For the manufacture of artificial muscles, the researchers used a bundle of several thousands of intertwined carbon fibers, which are immersed in a solution of polydimethylsiloxane. Then twist the thread and put into the oven on the day.
Then the thread is again rolled into a spiral, and so she began to decline, through it electric current. In the end, it turned out that it can be reduced so much that it can be used as the electric actuator.
