A new method of measuring blood flow in the brain invented by scientists from Davis. They analysed this indicator in a way that has not previously been used.
Engineers from the University of California have developed effective technology to measure blood flow in the human brain. It is suitable for people who have experienced a stroke or suffered a brain injury and doctors need to assess the condition of this body, for this is assessed including circulation and blood flow to this organ.
Note that the new method it is based on the traditional technology of the digital camera. In addition, it may be cheaper and more reliable than the methods that already exist in the present moment.
The essence of the method is to direct the light beam. At this moment the light particles or photons will scatter in different directions. The method has already received the name — it’s called diffuse correlation spectroscopy, or abbreviated as DCS. Fluctuations allow us to estimate the blood flow of the body.
In addition, if you use two beams of light, it allows to boost the signal. This will allow you to save money, because you no longer need expensive detectors, but only the digital camera based on CMOS. This method allows faster and easier to perform the state of flow.
