According to research company top of Mind MR&C, “live” visits of medical representatives remain the for pharmacists the main channel for conveying professional information from drug manufacturers. The majority (92%) of the surveyed pharmacists from different regions of Russia over the past month obtained information about products through personal meetings with representatives of pharmaceutical companies.
The second most important source of professional information for pervostolnik are articles in specialized publications (printed and Internet versions). In this format, improved their skills over the past month, 45% of survey participants. In third place (37%), acquisition of knowledge about LS in person educational events (seminars/round tables/ conferences/symposia).
The gaining popularity of the format of dissemination of professional information through social networks. A significant proportion of respondents (35%) had gained information about the drugs in the online community for pharmacists.
According to the survey, distance format of educational activities is becoming an integral part of increasing awareness among pharmacists about the drugs – 28% of respondents received over the past month, information from manufacturers, participating in online seminars/webinars.
But remote communication of medical representatives with pharmacists developed is not enough. Only 5% of respondents received professional advice from representatives of pharmaceutical companies by email, 12% by chatting on the phone.
It is noteworthy that in the framework of the certification cycles, information from drug manufacturers reached only 6% of pharmacists.
In the course of the study top of Mind MR&C was interviewed over 350 pharmacists/pharmacists and managers of independent and network pharmacies (public/private forms of ownership) from the cities of Russia with population from 100 thousand to 1 million people.
