Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Federal law from 03.08.2018 No. 314-FZ “On amendments to the Federal law “On prevention of TB spread in the Russian Federation”.

The Federal law “On prevention of TB spread in the Russian Federation” introduced changes aimed at expanding the categories of citizens who are subject to the norms of this Federal law.

This is the person who, when providing medical assistance, conducting medical examination, or clinical examination revealed signs of tuberculosis, the presence of which requires further assessment and (or) the establishment of follow-up (suspected tuberculosis).

In addition, the provisions of the act will also apply to individuals who place of residence, place of residence (location), place of work or study, the place of punishment or detention are or have been in contact with patients with tuberculosis or with tuberculosis of agricultural animals.

The Federal law also clarifies and expands the list of duties of the persons under dispensary observation in connection with tuberculosis. In particular, they are required to undergo prescribed medical anti-tuberculosis organization survey, to carry out the necessary preventive measures, including to use drugs to be monitored in a medical organization, and to observe the frequency of follow-up techniques to comply with the state sanitary and epidemiological rules and hygienic standards.

Individuals with tuberculosis, along with fulfilling the above responsibilities, should also undergo treatment prescribed by the doctor medical anti-tuberculosis organizations, to comply with his regime and rules of behavior of patients in medical organizations of TB while on treatment.
