By 2024, Russia is planning to transition to an annual maintenance inspection of all citizens. This was stated by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on July 25 at a meeting on development of the oncological help to the population, which was held in the Moscow regional oncological clinic.

“By 2024 we plan to go to the annual routine inspection of all citizens. And this year we have introduced a new procedure of examination. Now each person once in two years will be screened, screening for the most common types of cancer. In addition, doctors will pay special attention to people with high risk of development of Oncology – specific criteria. Of course, much depends on the aspirations of the people themselves undergo a medical examination”, – said Dmitry Medvedev.

According to him, now the issue on the establishment in all regions on centers outpatient cancer care. They can be created on the basis of existing General hospitals.

In parallel, regions will establish a so-called reference centres, where severe cases, you can double-check the results of the survey.

In addition, it is planned to upgrade the regional oncologic dispensary and a number of other organizations that have the capacity and base for the treatment of cancer.

“In fact, you need to create a network of modern, well-equipped specialized centers, using the successful experience of the regional vascular centers, which showed in General good results, will also work. By their example in the regions can be implemented as a centralized system of organization of oncologic aid. This means that the person will try to deliver there, where he will be given the most effective assistance, regardless of its level of difficulty. But of course, this is still to be achieved. In particular we are talking about nuclear medicine centres,” said Deputy Prime Minister, stressing that the closest attention should be paid to children.

All these tasks cannot be solved without skilled personnel.

“It is clear that cancer centres should work as doctors of the highest caliber. And need different specialists. Those who serve the most complex radiotherapy systems, which here, creates new products, wireless technologies. Engineers, radiologists, radio chemists and medical physics is interdisciplinary specialists, we are now trying to cook. And, of course, pharmacists, laboratory technicians, morphologists, and several others. They will have to operate the program of training and retraining,” – said the head of government.
