The system for the labelling of medicines in the future we plan to quickly add information about changes in the instructions for use of drugs, said the head of Roszdravnadzor Mikhail Murashko.
“Marking is an individual passport for each package, and the system will be seen who has made it, for which warehouse sent and then what the pharmacy network or healthcare organization she was admitted. If found some batch of poor-quality drugs, information, as well as the requirement of her retirement, immediately received and will apply to all market participants. In the future, it will be promptly added information about changes to the instructions for use of medicines”, – said the head of Roszdravnadzor Mikhail Murashko in an interview to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”.
A pilot project for the labelling of medicines began in 2017. Now there are already more than seven thousand legal entities – producers, pharmacy and medical institutions in all regions of the country and more than thousand names of medicines, equivalent to 11.5 million packages.
“We defined the format of the marking, worked the mechanisms of its application, transferring data from the production line, where it was introduced in the information system, created the necessary computer programs and mobile apps that allow consumers to read by smartphone code marking and confirming the authenticity of the drug. The whole chain – from the producer to the final consumer worked. In the process of implementation of the pilot project we have identified some offences, for example related to the resale of “soft drugs”,” – said the head of Roszdravnadzor.
According to him, from 1 January 2020, the Russian marking will have all the medications, officially sold in Russia, regardless of whether they are made in our country or abroad. The unmarked drugs that were released before this date will legally be in circulation until the expiry date.
